Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
- Control access to venues, verify credentials, and manage guest flow efficiently and courteously.
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations in accordance with established protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service, offering directions and assistance to attendees.
- Enforce venue rules and regulations, gently intervening in situations that may compromise safety or enjoyment.
- Liaise with event organizers, management, and emergency services as needed.
- Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities.
- Conduct bag searches and other security checks as required.
- Assist with crowd management and ensure smooth entry and exit procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in security, customer service, or a related field (at least 6 months)
- Excellent observational and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Physical fitness and ability to stand for long periods and patrol venues
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in event security or crowd management.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Security Guarding License (e.g., PSIRA equivalent if applicable in Kenya, or similar local certification).
- Knowledge of local security regulations and emergency procedures.
