Key Responsibilities
- Lead client consultations to understand their vision, objectives, budget, and specific requirements for weddings and corporate events.
- Develop comprehensive event proposals, including creative concepts, themes, logistical plans, and detailed budget breakdowns.
- Source, negotiate with, and manage a diverse range of vendors (caterers, venues, florists, photographers, entertainers, technical support) to ensure high-quality service and competitive pricing.
- Create detailed timelines, checklists, and floor plans, meticulously overseeing all planning phases to ensure seamless execution.
- Manage event budgets, track expenses, and provide regular financial updates to clients and internal management.
- Coordinate on-site event logistics, including setup, décor, vendor management, guest flow, and troubleshooting, ensuring a smooth and successful event.
- Maintain exceptional client communication throughout the planning process, providing regular updates and promptly addressing concerns.
- Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback, and analyze outcomes to identify areas for improvement and client satisfaction.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and creative innovations in both wedding and corporate event planning.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners to enhance Exclusive Events Abuja's network and reputation.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in event planning, with a strong portfolio showcasing both wedding and corporate events.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-centric approach.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Creative thinking and ability to develop innovative concepts and themes.
- Problem-solving aptitude and ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and client base.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for site visits and event execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Certification in Event Planning (e.g., CMP, CSEP).
- Established network of local Abuja vendors and venues for both wedding and corporate events.
- Experience with CRM software for client management.
- Fluency in additional local languages (e.g., Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo) is a plus.
