Key Responsibilities
- Assist Event Managers with all aspects of event planning, coordination, and execution from conception to post-event breakdown.
- Set up and dismantle event spaces, including furniture, décor, audio-visual equipment, and catering stations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to guests and attendees, addressing inquiries and resolving minor issues promptly and courteously.
- Support catering and F&B teams during events, including serving, clearing, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Manage guest registration, ushering, and directing attendees as required.
- Maintain inventory of event supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or damages.
- Adhere strictly to all hotel policies, safety regulations, and service standards.
- Collaborate effectively with various hotel departments to ensure smooth event flow.
- Perform administrative tasks such as preparing event materials, maintaining schedules, and communicating updates.
- Actively participate in pre-event briefings and post-event debriefings to identify areas for improvement.
Required Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to lift and move event equipment (up to 25 lbs).
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Customer service orientation with a pleasant and professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience (even voluntary) in event support, hospitality, or customer service.
- Diploma or certification in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or a related field.
- Knowledge of various event setups and service styles.
- Experience with POS systems or event management software.
- Multilingual abilities (e.g., ability to speak Yoruba or other local Nigerian languages).
