Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Consultant to join our growing team in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert environmental advice and support to our oil and gas clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices. This role involves conducting environmental impact assessments, developing and implementing environmental management plans, and providing technical support on environmental issues. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a demonstrated commitment to environmental stewardship. This is a crucial role in supporting our company’s commitment to sustainability and minimizing environmental impacts across our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and other environmental studies.
- Developing and implementing environmental management plans (EMPs) for oil and gas projects.
- Advising clients on environmental regulations and best practices.
- Monitoring and reporting on environmental performance.
- Managing environmental permits and licenses.
- Preparing environmental reports and presentations.
- Conducting environmental audits and inspections.
- Liaising with regulatory authorities.
- Developing and delivering environmental training programs.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of our environmental management systems.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations in Nigeria's Oil and Gas industry.
- Experience in conducting EIAs and EMPs.
- Proficient in environmental data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., ArcGIS, AutoCAD).
- Project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental consulting within the oil and gas industry.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Environmental Auditor).
