Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in accordance with Ontario Regulation 153/04.
  • Perform site investigations, including soil, groundwater, and soil vapour sampling.
  • Analyze environmental data, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
  • Develop and implement remediation action plans and provide oversight during remediation activities.
  • Assist with environmental impact assessments, natural heritage studies, and ecological evaluations.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies (e.g., MECP, conservation authorities), and subcontractors.
  • Ensure project compliance with relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables effectively.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Participate in business development activities and client relationship management.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, specifically with ESAs.
  • Strong understanding of Ontario environmental legislation (e.g., O.Reg. 153/04).
  • Proficiency in field sampling techniques and safety protocols.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant environmental discipline.
  • Professional designation (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo., C.E.T.) or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience with Contaminated Site Risk Assessment.
  • Familiarity with GIS software and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with Natural Heritage and Ecological Land Classification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
