Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
  • Help prepare classroom materials and resources, ensuring a tidy and stimulating learning environment.
  • Supervise students during lessons, break times, and school trips, promoting positive behaviour and safety.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities under the guidance of the teacher.
  • Listen to students read and assist with reading comprehension activities.
  • Assist with classroom management and maintain discipline in line with school policies.
  • Provide feedback to the class teacher on student progress and behaviour.
  • Support students' social and emotional development, encouraging participation and confidence.
  • Undertake administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and displaying student work.
