We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineer with a strong background in Project Management within the construction industry to join our dynamic team in GRA, Ikeja. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of construction projects from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget forecasts, utilizing industry-standard project management tools.
- Oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality control procedures.
- Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Monitor project progress, prepare regular status reports, and present updates to senior management and clients.
- Manage project documentation, contracts, and procurement activities in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct thorough project close-out procedures, including final inspections, defect rectification, and documentation archival.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management within the construction sector, specifically on large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
- Proven proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and quality control effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project challenges.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration.
- Registered Engineer with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria).
- Experience with FIDIC contracts or similar international construction contract forms.
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) applications in project management.
