Are you an enthusiastic, highly dedicated, and compassionate educator passionate about shaping young minds and laying the foundational building blocks for their future success? Sacramento City Unified School District is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Elementary School Teacher to join our diverse and dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining an engaging, supportive, and academically challenging learning environment for students in grades K-6. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and assess engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans for elementary students (K-6) across core subjects.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning and student well-being.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, school staff, and support personnel to enhance the overall educational experience.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting respect, responsibility, and positive social interactions.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives to improve instructional practices and school culture.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by district and state policies.
  • Integrate technology effectively into daily instruction to enhance learning outcomes.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (or eligibility for one).
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage an effective, student-centered learning environment.
  • Strong understanding of elementary curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive educational setting.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology for teaching and learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Education or a related field.
  • Bilingual authorization or proficiency in a language prevalent in the Sacramento community.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and various learning styles.
  • Experience implementing social-emotional learning (SEL) curricula and restorative practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze student data to inform instruction and intervention strategies.
