Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrician specializing in office wiring and corporate installations to join our dynamic technical team in Oshodi, Oshodi-Isolo. This critical role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within various corporate environments, ensuring all operations adhere strictly to industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. As an Electrician focused on corporate installations, you will be instrumental in setting up new office spaces, performing upgrades to existing infrastructure, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to guarantee uninterrupted power supply and optimal functionality of electrical systems.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include interpreting blueprints and schematics, installing electrical conduits, wiring, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, and communication lines, as well as testing and troubleshooting electrical systems to identify and resolve faults efficiently. You will work closely with project managers, facility managers, and other technical teams to deliver high-quality electrical solutions that meet the specific needs of our corporate clients. A strong commitment to safety, an eye for detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are paramount. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in corporate office environments.
- Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the layout of wiring and equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, diagnose problems using appropriate testing devices, and implement effective solutions.
- Install and connect electrical power to new equipment, lighting systems, data outlets, and other infrastructure.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with national electrical codes (e.g., Nigerian Electrical Safety Standards) and company safety policies.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to coordinate electrical installations and minimize disruption to client operations.
- Prepare accurate reports detailing work performed, materials used, and identified issues.
- Respond promptly to emergency electrical calls and perform necessary repairs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in electrical installation and maintenance within commercial or corporate settings.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical faults.
- Thorough understanding of relevant electrical safety standards and codes.
- Ability to use various electrical tools and testing equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade Test Grade I, II, or III in Electrical Installation.
- OND/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and generator systems.
- Valid driver's license.
- Certification in Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA or equivalent).
