This is a full-time, on-site role based in Nelspruit (Mbombela), designed for someone eager to learn the foundational and advanced skills required to become a certified electrician. As an apprentice, you will receive comprehensive, hands-on training directly from our experienced, qualified electricians, working on a variety of projects ranging from new installations to maintenance and troubleshooting across different settings. Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
- Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams under supervision.
- Help in troubleshooting electrical issues, diagnosing faults, and implementing effective solutions.
- Prepare and clean work sites, ensuring all tools and equipment are organized and properly maintained.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and electrical codes to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Participate actively in on-the-job training sessions and formal instruction to develop a strong understanding of electrical theory and practical applications.
- Perform general labour duties as required, including trenching, pulling cables, and material handling.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
Required Skills
- Minimum Grade 10 or NQF Level 2 qualification.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in electrical systems.
- Eagerness to learn and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team.
- Good physical condition, capable of lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site in Nelspruit (Mbombela) and surrounding areas.
- Excellent work ethic and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical N-Levels (N1-N3) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Valid Code 08 (B) driver’s license or learner’s permit.
- Previous experience in a trade-related environment (even informal experience).
