Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Systems Engineer to join a leading organization we represent, based in their modern office in Sangotedo, Lekki. This pivotal role involves the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical systems for various infrastructure and industrial projects. As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of electrical installations from conceptualization through commissioning. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and technicians, to deliver innovative and robust solutions that meet stringent technical specifications and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for various projects, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, local codes).
  • Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, schematics, and single-line diagrams using CAD software.
  • Conduct power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and protective device coordination studies.
  • Perform calculations for cable sizing, voltage drop, lighting levels, and earthing systems.
  • Oversee the installation, inspection, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, providing effective and timely solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and cost estimates.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies, materials, and methods in electrical engineering to propose innovative solutions.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company and regulatory health and safety procedures.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
  • Strong understanding of power systems, electrical machines, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 70, BS 7671, IEC).
  • Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Project management fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Professional engineering license (COREN registration preferred).
  • Experience with renewable energy systems (solar, wind) or smart grid technologies.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming and SCADA systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex infrastructure or industrial projects.
