Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and rigorously monitor Universal Basic Education (UBE) policies and programs within the Malumfashi LGA.
  • Conduct regular inspections, supervision, and assessment visits to primary and junior secondary schools to ensure strict adherence to established educational standards and curricula.
  • Provide professional development, pedagogical support, and strategic guidance to teachers and school administrators on effective curriculum delivery, modern teaching methodologies, and efficient classroom management techniques.
  • Systematically collect, analyze, and accurately report on key educational data, including student enrollment figures, attendance rates, academic performance metrics, and infrastructure development status.
  • Facilitate and organize impactful training workshops, seminars, and continuous professional development programs for educators across the LGA.
  • Actively liaise and build strong relationships with community leaders, Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), school-based management committees, and other relevant stakeholders to promote robust community participation and ownership in education initiatives.
  • Assist in the equitable planning, efficient allocation, and judicious utilization of educational resources to schools within the LGA.
  • Investigate, mediate, and effectively resolve issues related to school administration, student welfare, disciplinary matters, and community relations.
  • Prepare comprehensive, analytical reports on educational activities, challenges encountered, and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement to SUBEB headquarters.
  • Advocate vigorously for child protection policies, inclusive education practices, and gender equality in all schools under the LGA's purview.

Required Skills

  • Strong foundational knowledge of Nigeria's Universal Basic Education (UBE) policy framework and its practical implementation strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and public presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in systematic data collection, rigorous analysis, and clear, concise report writing.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a vital part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and effective time management abilities.
  • Competency in basic computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and conflict resolution skills.
  • Fluency in English and Hausa (written and spoken) is essential for effective communication in the local context.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Additional professional certification in education management, project management, or leadership.
  • Demonstrable experience working collaboratively with local communities, grassroots organizations, or non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in education.
  • Familiarity with educational software, learning management systems, and digital learning tools.
