Job Description
Kids Campus Childcare Centre is actively seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 2 or 3 to join our dynamic team in Grande Prairie. As an ECE, you will be instrumental in creating and maintaining a warm, secure, and educational environment for children aged infant to school-age. You will have the unique opportunity to develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate programs that stimulate cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, aligning with Alberta’s Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate daily programs and activities for children, focusing on play-based learning.
- Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress and identifying individual needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment that meets all licensing regulations and health standards.
- Foster positive relationships with children, promoting their social-emotional growth and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress, daily activities, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan, evaluate, and enhance programs and services.
- Administer first aid or seek medical attention when necessary, following established protocols.
- Ensure all children's basic needs are met, including feeding, diapering/toileting, and resting.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Assist in maintaining program records, attendance sheets, and incident reports.
Required Skills
- Alberta Child Care Certification Level 2 or 3 (Early Childhood Educator)
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare facility (1-2 years preferred)
- Experience with diverse age groups (infant, toddler, preschool, school-age)
- Knowledge of Alberta's Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework
- Experience with special needs inclusion practices
- Additional training in areas such as positive behaviour guidance or play therapy
