Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and seat customers upon their arrival, providing menus and daily specials.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, utilizing our point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Deliver orders to tables efficiently and accurately, ensuring presentation standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tables, condiment stations, and service areas.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor complaints professionally and promptly.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash and card transactions.
- Assist with setting up and closing down the café, including restocking supplies and light cleaning duties.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth order flow and timely service.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address any needs or concerns.
- Uphold all hygiene and food safety standards.
- Provide recommendations and upsell menu items where appropriate.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a waitress/waiter in a busy café or restaurant environment (minimum 1 year).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in basic math for handling payments and making change.
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Fluency in English and/or Kinyarwanda.
