Key Responsibilities
- Host engaging and informative live radio shows according to program schedules and station guidelines.
- Curate and manage music playlists, ensuring a fresh and appealing selection for the target audience.
- Engage actively with listeners through phone calls, social media, and other interactive platforms, fostering a sense of community.
- Research, prepare, and deliver compelling show content, including news updates, interviews, discussions, and feature segments.
- Operate broadcast equipment and software proficiently during live shows and pre-recorded segments.
- Conduct live and pre-recorded interviews with guests, artists, and public figures.
- Participate in promotional events, station appearances, and community outreach initiatives.
- Adhere strictly to broadcasting regulations, ethical standards, and station policies.
- Monitor social media trends and current events to ensure content remains relevant and timely.
- Collaborate with the production and programming teams to develop innovative show ideas and improve listener experience.
Required Skills
- Exceptional verbal communication skills in Latvian, with a clear and engaging broadcast voice.
- Proven ability to connect with an audience and maintain high energy levels during live broadcasts.
- Strong improvisational skills, quick wit, and the ability to think on your feet.
- Proficiency in operating standard radio broadcasting equipment and software.
- Excellent content creation and storytelling abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- A deep understanding of popular culture, current events, and music trends relevant to the Latvian audience.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a radio presenter in a professional broadcasting environment.
- Familiarity with digital audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools).
- Multilingual capabilities (e.g., Russian, English) are considered an asset.
