Job Description
Zone Fitness Ferndale is seeking a highly motivated, certified, and experienced Personal Trainer to join our thriving team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about fitness, dedicated to helping others achieve their goals, and possesses exceptional interpersonal skills. As a Personal Trainer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing personalized exercise programs, conducting one-on-one and small group training sessions, and providing expert guidance on nutrition and lifestyle choices. You will play a crucial role in motivating our members, ensuring their safety, and fostering a positive and encouraging training environment that aligns with Zone Fitness’s commitment to member success. We are looking for someone who can not only attract new clients through engaging consultations and demonstrations but also retain existing ones through outstanding service, demonstrable results, and a deep understanding of exercise science and client psychology. Your day-to-day will involve comprehensive client assessments, setting realistic and challenging goals, tracking progress diligently, and adapting programs as needed. You will also be expected to maintain a clean, safe, and organized training space, actively participate in gym events, workshops, and promotional activities to build your client base, and contribute to the overall positive atmosphere and community spirit of the Zone Fitness Ferndale branch. This role requires flexibility in working hours, a strong work ethic, a proactive approach to sales and client management, and a genuine desire to make a tangible difference in people’s lives through transformative fitness journeys. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement individualized and small group exercise programs.
- Conduct thorough fitness assessments and re-assessments for clients.
- Provide clear instruction and demonstration of exercises, ensuring proper form and technique.
- Motivate and encourage clients to achieve their fitness goals.
- Educate clients on nutrition, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and program adjustments.
- Actively promote personal training services and recruit new clients.
- Ensure the training area is clean, safe, and organized.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.
- Adhere to all Zone Fitness policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
- Foster a positive and supportive relationship with clients and other gym members.
Required Skills
- Nationally recognized Personal Training certification (e.g., HFPA, ETA, ISSA, NASM, ACE).
- Proven experience in designing and implementing exercise programs.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and exercise science.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Exceptional client service and sales abilities.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- Specialization certifications (e.g., Strength & Conditioning, Nutrition, Group Exercise).
- Experience with diverse client populations (e.g., seniors, youth, post-rehab).
- Proficiency in using fitness tracking software and client management systems.
