As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for the visual presentation of merchandise, stock management, and creating an inviting shopping environment that encourages sales. Key Responsibilities
- Execute visual merchandising strategies and planograms provided by PEP Stores head office.
- Ensure all merchandise is displayed attractively, logically, and in accordance with brand standards.
- Receive, unpack, and organise stock deliveries efficiently, ensuring accurate inventory counts.
- Monitor stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom, replenishing as needed.
- Implement promotional displays and signage, ensuring they are current and correctly placed.
- Conduct regular stock rotation to manage product freshness and minimise waste.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe sales floor and stockroom environment.
- Assist with inventory checks, cycle counts, and report discrepancies.
- Ensure correct pricing and labelling of all products on display.
- Provide basic customer assistance and support when required, contributing to a positive shopping experience.
- Collaborate with the store management team to achieve sales targets and operational excellence.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a retail environment, preferably in merchandising or stock control.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for visual aesthetics.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and implement planograms accurately.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift, move, and arrange merchandise (up to 25kg).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Matric Certificate).
- Previous experience specifically as a retail merchandiser or visual merchandiser.
- Understanding of retail sales principles and customer service best practices.
- Proficiency in using basic retail point-of-sale (POS) systems or inventory management software.
