Job Description
Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc is seeking a skilled and experienced Driver/Truck Driver to join our growing team in Ikorodu, Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to all company policies and regulations. This role demands a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. The successful candidate will be part of a team that ensures the seamless movement of our products within and around the Ikorodu area and beyond. The role will involve regular interaction with warehouse personnel, logistics coordinators and clients. Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic are essential. The selected candidate will be expected to maintain a clean driving record and adhere strictly to all traffic rules and regulations. Regular maintenance of the assigned vehicle and timely reporting of any mechanical issues is crucial for this role. Prior experience in fleet management and logistics will be an advantage. The role involves heavy lifting and physical demands requiring good physical strength and stamina. The candidate must be able to maintain accurate trip logs and adhere to all relevant transport documentation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient operation of assigned trucks
- Timely delivery of goods to designated locations
- Adherence to all company policies and safety regulations
- Maintaining accurate trip logs and documentation
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Reporting any mechanical issues promptly
- Maintaining a clean and organized vehicle
- Communicating effectively with warehouse personnel and clients
- Ensuring the security of the transported goods
- Assisting with loading and unloading of goods as needed
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license (Class B or higher)
- Proven experience as a truck driver (minimum of 2 years)
- Knowledge of traffic rules and regulations
- Excellent driving record
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Good physical fitness and stamina
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Ikorodu and its surrounding areas
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with heavy-duty trucks

- Possession of a HAZMAT endorsement on driver's license
