Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement structured driver training programs for new and experienced drivers.
- Conduct both theoretical classroom sessions and practical on-road training and assessments.
- Evaluate driver performance and provide constructive feedback and remedial training.
- Ensure all drivers comply with company policies, local traffic laws, and safety regulations.
- Monitor and track driver progress and maintain accurate training records.
- Advise on best practices for vehicle operation, maintenance, and fuel efficiency.
- Investigate driving incidents or accidents to identify training gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new regulations, and vehicle technologies.
- Mentor and coach drivers to promote a culture of professionalism and safety.
- Collaborate with fleet management to identify training needs and develop solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with an excellent safety record.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian road traffic laws and transportation regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively instruct and motivate individuals or groups.
- Proficiency in using common office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong observational and analytical skills for assessing driving performance.
- Valid professional driving license (e.g., Class G, E, F as per Nigerian classification).
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
