This vital role is crucial for ensuring the safe, timely, and comfortable transportation of our esteemed staff and, occasionally, clients, to various destinations within Lagos and its environs. As a Staff Driver, you will be the backbone of our operational mobility, contributing significantly to our team’s efficiency and productivity. Your day-to-day will involve more than just driving; it’s about providing a service with discretion, professionalism, and a proactive approach. This includes performing routine checks, scheduling maintenance, and promptly reporting any mechanical issues. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and punctually transport staff and, occasionally, clients to designated locations.
- Perform daily pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain the company vehicle in pristine condition, ensuring cleanliness and optimal operational status.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules, coordinating and overseeing necessary repairs and servicing.
- Adhere strictly to all national and local traffic laws and regulations.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Plan efficient routes, considering traffic conditions and time constraints, utilizing navigation tools.
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage or other items as required.
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding company information and passenger conversations.
- Respond calmly and effectively to unexpected situations, such as breakdowns or accidents, following company protocols.
- Communicate effectively with passengers and management regarding schedules and potential delays.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Class B/C Driver's License.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic patterns.
- Proven clean driving record with no history of major accidents or violations.
- Strong defensive driving skills and awareness of road safety.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics for routine checks and minor troubleshooting.
- Exceptional punctuality and reliability.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use GPS navigation systems and smartphone applications.
- High level of professionalism and discretion.
