Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport goods and materials to designated locations across Lagos.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, navigating Lagos traffic effectively.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks like changing tires, checking oil and water levels.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper upkeep of the assigned vehicle at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G minimum)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3 years
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in logistics or delivery services
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic patterns
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to operate various types of vehicles safely (e.g., vans, light trucks)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Physical stamina to handle loading and unloading duties as required
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE or equivalent educational qualification
- Defensive driving certification
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization apps
