Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided vehicle to transport goods to various locations within Abuja and its environs, primarily Nyanya and surrounding areas.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for deliveries, considering traffic and delivery schedules.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate the delivery vehicle, ensuring goods are securely stored and protected during transit.
- Verify contents of shipments against shipping documents before and after delivery to ensure accuracy.
- Collect payments, when necessary, and issue receipts.
- Communicate effectively with clients, dispatch, and internal teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Complete daily logs, delivery manifests, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring they arrive at their destination in perfect condition.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.supersecrets professionally.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G)
- Minimum of 3 years (36 months) professional driving experience in a logistics or delivery role.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks, particularly Nyanya and its surrounding areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate a variety of delivery vehicles.
- Physical stamina to lift and move packages, sometimes heavy.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Previous experience with route optimization software.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge for minor checks (e.g., fluid levels, tire pressure).
