Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle for the transport of goods, documents, and personnel across Gwarimpa and wider Abuja.
- Perform daily vehicle checks, including fuel, oil, water, tire pressure, and lights, ensuring the vehicle is always in optimal working condition.
- Adhere strictly to all Nigerian traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving policies at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs, delivery times, and consignment notes.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring goods are secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Interact professionally and courteously with clients, suppliers, and internal staff during pickups and deliveries.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues, accidents, or traffic violations promptly to management.
- Plan efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries and minimize fuel consumption.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E minimum).
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Impeccable driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations.
- Excellent knowledge of Gwarimpa and Abuja road networks, including alternative routes.
- Strong sense of punctuality, reliability, and responsibility.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift and move packages as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of a defensive driving certificate.
- Experience with various types of delivery vehicles (vans, trucks).
- Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation applications.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role.
