Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Transport goods, packages, and occasionally personnel to various locations within Abuja and its surrounding areas.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of items, following predetermined routes or adjusting as necessary for optimal efficiency.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and colleagues, providing updates on delivery status or potential delays.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle, both interior and exterior.
- Handle delivery documentation, including waybills, invoices, and proof of delivery signatures.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously during all interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or equivalent for commercial driving)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Thorough knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic regulations
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting
- Physical stamina to assist with loading/unloading and prolonged driving periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Senior School Certificate (SSCE/WAEC) or equivalent
- Experience with courier or logistics delivery services
