Career.supersecrets is seeking a dedicated and experienced Driver – Logistics & Delivery to join our growing team in Guarimpa Estate, Abuja. This pivotal role involves the safe and timely transportation of goods, packages, and sometimes personnel, using a company-provided vehicle. You will be an essential link in our supply chain, ensuring that our operational flow remains smooth and our clients receive exceptional service.
As a Driver, you will be responsible for navigating various routes within Abuja and occasionally beyond, adhering strictly to traffic laws and company safety protocols. Your daily tasks will include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, loading and unloading items, and maintaining accurate delivery records. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of attention to detail, and possesses excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
This role demands a high level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality. You will be entrusted with company assets and expected to maintain them in excellent working condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods, packages, or personnel to designated locations.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Load and unload items carefully, securing them properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, utilizing navigation tools.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, colleagues, and dispatch.
- Handle cash or digital payments for deliveries if required, and ensure accurate reconciliation.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
- Assist with warehouse tasks or other duties as needed to support logistics operations.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Class E or G)
- Minimum of 2 years professional driving experience
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic regulations
- Proven track record of safe driving
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina to lift and move packages (up to 25kg)
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND/B.Sc. in Logistics, Transportation, or related field (not mandatory but a plus)
- Experience with delivery tracking software or mobile applications
- Familiarity with various types of delivery vehicles (e.g., vans, light trucks)
- Defensive driving certification
- Prior experience in e-commerce or retail logistics
