This pivotal full-time role involves operating a company-provided vehicle to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods to various destinations within and around the Abuja metropolitan area. As a Driver, you will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of road safety, vehicle maintenance, and customer service. Your daily tasks will range from meticulous route planning and vehicle inspections to accurate record-keeping and professional interaction with clients and partners. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods, documents, and personnel to designated locations.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure timely delivery and collection of items, adhering strictly to schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or potential delays.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and tidy, performing routine basic maintenance checks like fluid levels and tire pressure.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously during all interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Class E or G Driver's License (Commercial/Professional)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience in logistics or delivery.
- Proven track record of safe driving with no major traffic violations.
- Excellent knowledge of road networks within Abuja and surrounding areas.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read maps, use GPS devices, and plan efficient routes.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of punctuality, reliability, and responsibility.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or Ordinary National Diploma (OND).
- Experience driving light trucks or vans for commercial purposes.
