Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicle safely and efficiently for deliveries within Garki, Abuja, and surrounding areas.
- Plan and execute optimal delivery routes, utilizing navigation tools, to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Load, unload, and secure packages, goods, or equipment properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct daily pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and promptly report any mechanical issues or damage.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage, fuel consumption, delivery confirmations, and customer interactions.
- Interact professionally and courteously with clients, partners, and the public, ensuring positive customer experiences.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, safety regulations, and delivery protocols at all times.
- Handle and process delivery documentation, collect payments (if required), and obtain necessary signatures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations managers, and customers regarding delivery status or unforeseen delays.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G or equivalent for light/medium duty vehicles)
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional driving experience in a delivery or logistics capacity.
- Proven track record of safe driving practices and an impeccable driving record.
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks, particularly Garki district and surrounding areas.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
- Strong time management, organizational, and route planning skills.
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills for professional customer interaction.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to operate GPS devices, smartphones, and delivery tracking applications.
- High level of responsibility and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with delivery tracking software and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
