Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles for the transport of goods, documents, and personnel across Abuja and its environs.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, optimizing for time and fuel consumption.
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring vehicles are clean, fueled, and in excellent working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and scheduled vehicle maintenance.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road signs, and company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure the secure loading, unloading, and transportation of all items, preventing damage or loss.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and clients regarding delivery status, delays, or any unforeseen issues.
- Handle minor vehicle emergencies (e.g., flat tires, minor mechanical checks) or coordinate external assistance as needed.
- Assist with other ad-hoc logistical tasks or errands as required to support operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a logistics or corporate setting.
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks, traffic patterns, and alternative routes.
- Proven track record of safe driving practices and strict adherence to traffic laws.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff and clients.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle checks and routine maintenance tasks.
- High level of punctuality, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and prolonged driving periods.
