Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Driver to join our dynamic logistics and delivery team. This crucial role involves safely and efficiently transporting goods, packages, and materials using a company-provided vehicle across National Stadium, Abuja, and surrounding areas. As a Driver, you will be the face of our operational excellence, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining vehicle integrity, and upholding the highest standards of customer service.
Your day will involve planning efficient routes, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, loading and unloading items, and accurately completing delivery documentation. You will navigate diverse traffic conditions with confidence, prioritizing safety and adherence to all traffic regulations. This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to precision. We rely on our drivers to be punctual, reliable, and possess a keen eye for detail to ensure every delivery is successful and every customer interaction is positive. You will operate various types of vehicles, primarily vans or light trucks, depending on the daily requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company-provided vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods and materials.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled timelines.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, manifests, and documentation, including proof of delivery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status and any issues.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, fueled, and in good operational condition.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as needed when not on delivery routes.
- Handle unexpected situations or route changes with professionalism and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Class E Driver's License (or equivalent for commercial vehicles)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience in logistics or delivery
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 25kg)
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and defensive driving practices
- Punctuality and reliability
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation applications
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent
- Customer service experience
