Job Description
Career.supersecrets is seeking a highly motivated and responsible Driver – Logistics & Delivery to join our growing team in Karu, Abuja. This pivotal role involves operating a company-provided vehicle to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely transport of goods, packages, and sometimes personnel to various destinations within Abuja and its environs. You will be the face of our logistics operations, ensuring that deliveries are made promptly and professionally, maintaining the highest standards of customer service. We are looking for an individual with a strong commitment to road safety, excellent time management skills, and a keen eye for detail when handling valuable items. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, light trucks) for the transport and delivery of goods, packages, or personnel across designated routes.
- Plan and execute daily delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines and optimize fuel consumption.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring proper securing to prevent damage during transit.
- Perform routine vehicle checks (tyre pressure, oil, fuel, water, brakes, lights, etc.) and ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and road regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Handle delivery documentation, including waybills, invoices, and delivery notes, ensuring all paperwork is correctly completed and signed.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or traffic violations immediately to management.
- Assist with other logistical tasks or general duties as required by management.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or equivalent)
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Proven experience in logistics and delivery driving
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja roads, routes, and traffic regulations
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages when necessary
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/GCE/NECO or equivalent educational qualification
- Previous experience operating company-owned vehicles for commercial purposes
- Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation applications
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
