Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods and personnel to designated locations.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly to management.
- Ensure the secure loading and unloading of goods, verifying accuracy against delivery notes and ensuring proper handling.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and all vehicle maintenance activities.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, supervisors, and clients regarding delivery status, potential delays, or any issues encountered on the road.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing the company with integrity and professionalism.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including stringent health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Assist with other logistical tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and a strong sense of teamwork.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of the company vehicle at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E minimum)
- Minimum of 1 year professional driving experience in a logistics or corporate setting
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks, including Nyanya and surrounding areas, and traffic regulations
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance basics and minor troubleshooting capabilities
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items as required (up to 25kg) with proper technique
- Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/WAEC/NECO) or equivalent
- Possession of a Defensive Driving Certificate or similar safety training
- Experience with delivery logistics software, GPS navigation devices, or route optimization tools
- Previous experience working for a reputable logistics or courier service
