Key Responsibilities
- Operate company-provided vehicles safely and efficiently for various logistics and delivery tasks within Dutse, Abuja, and surrounding areas.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, taking into account traffic and road conditions.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring secure packaging and safe handling to prevent damage.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Ensure strict adherence to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery status, potential delays, or unforeseen challenges.
- Assist with basic vehicle cleaning and ensure the vehicle is always presentable and roadworthy.
- Handle cash payments or delivery receipts accurately when required.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian driver's license (Class E or G)
- Minimum of 3 years (36 months) professional driving experience
- Thorough knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic regulations
- Proven track record of safe driving with no major accidents or traffic violations
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks (oil, tire pressure, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Physical fitness to lift and carry packages as required
- High level of integrity and responsibility
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent
- Experience with delivery route planning software or GPS systems
- Previous experience in a logistics or courier service environment
