We are actively seeking a highly skilled, reliable, and dedicated Driver to join our logistics and delivery team in Abuja. This critical role involves operating a company-provided vehicle to transport goods, documents, and personnel across various locations within Abuja and its environs, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company-owned vehicles (cars, vans) safely and efficiently for transportation of goods, documents, and personnel.
- Plan and execute delivery routes effectively to ensure timely arrivals and departures, accounting for traffic and road conditions.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
- Maintain accurate logbooks of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, service schedules, and delivery records.
- Load and unload items safely, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies at all times.
- Represent the company professionally during all interactions with clients and the public.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire checks, oil level monitoring, and routine cleaning.
- Handle delivery documentation accurately, including obtaining signatures and verifying contents.
- Respond to unforeseen circumstances, such as breakdowns or accidents, following established company procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information and client details handled during deliveries.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class B or C)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic patterns
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctuality and strong time management abilities
