We are seeking a highly reliable and experienced Driver – Logistics & Delivery to join our growing team in Kado, Abuja. This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods, packages, and documents across various locations within Abuja and occasionally to surrounding areas, utilizing a company-provided vehicle. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company-provided vehicle to transport goods, packages, and documents to designated locations.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries, minimizing fuel consumption and travel time.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs or defects promptly.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of items, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs, delivery receipts, and fuel consumption.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with clients and recipients.
- Manage and reconcile delivery documentation, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Keep the company vehicle clean, well-maintained, and presentable.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery status, potential delays, or unforeseen issues.
- Handle cash payments or verify cashless transactions if required during deliveries.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or G)
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional driving experience
- Thorough knowledge of Abuja's road network and traffic regulations
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina to assist with loading/unloading and prolonged driving periods
- High level of integrity and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Defensive Driving Certification
