Career.supersecrets is seeking a highly reliable and professional Driver to join our dedicated logistics and delivery team in Gwarimpa, Abuja. This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods and personnel, utilizing a company-provided vehicle. Your day-to-day will be dynamic, encompassing everything from meticulous route planning to careful handling of packages and maintaining clear communication with dispatch and clients. You will be expected to conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness, cleanliness, and fuel efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods, documents, and sometimes personnel to designated locations within Gwarimpa, Abuja, and surrounding areas.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road signs, and company driving policies and procedures.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is in excellent working condition, clean, and well-maintained.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring secure placement and proper handling to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries and pickups, adapting to changing road and traffic conditions.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or any issues encountered.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions, ensuring a polite and professional demeanor.
- Handle company property and sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and care.
- Comply with all safety regulations and company protocols at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years professional driving experience in a logistics or delivery capacity
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks, particularly Gwarimpa and its environs
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and road safety regulations
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High degree of punctuality and reliability
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 25kg)
- Clean driving record with no major violations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience driving for a reputable logistics or e-commerce company
- Defensive driving certification
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route optimization apps
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent
