Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport goods and materials to designated locations.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, damages, or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Ensure the security and proper handling of all cargo during transit.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper securing of items.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or potential issues.
- Handle delivery documentation, including waybills, invoices, and proof of delivery.
- Maintain cleanliness and good order of the assigned company vehicle.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G minimum)
- Minimum of 2 years professional driving experience in Lagos
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic patterns
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques
- Ability to operate various types of vehicles (vans, trucks, etc.)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality
- Ability to perform basic vehicle checks and maintenance
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE or OND/HND in a related field
- Experience with logistics software or GPS navigation systems
- First Aid and basic vehicle repair certification
- Previous experience working for a recognized logistics or transportation company
