Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport goods and materials to designated locations following planned routes and schedules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery status or any delays.
- Keep the vehicle clean and tidy, performing minor maintenance tasks like checking tire pressure and fluid levels.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents immediately to management.
- Ensure all delivery documentation, such as waybills and delivery notes, are accurately completed and signed.
- Represent Career.supersecrets professionally at all times while on duty.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Class G/E/C as appropriate for commercial vehicles)
- Proven experience as a professional driver in a logistics or transportation setting.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks, especially Ikeja and surrounding areas.
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety procedures and maintenance.
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of punctuality, reliability, and responsibility.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
- Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/GCE/NECO).
- Additional defensive driving certifications or training.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route optimization apps.
- Experience with various types of commercial vehicles (e.g., vans, trucks).
