Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles (vans, small trucks) for the delivery and collection of goods.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road signs, and company driving policies to ensure maximum safety.
- Perform pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
- Ensure timely delivery and collection of goods to various destinations within Oshodi, Isolo, and other parts of Lagos.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring goods are properly secured and handled with care.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status and any unforeseen delays.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously during all interactions with clients and the public.
- Keep the vehicle clean and tidy, performing routine basic maintenance tasks as required.
- Follow designated routes and schedules, adapting to changes as necessary with proper coordination.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G or higher)
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) professional driving experience
- Proven safe driving record with no major accidents or traffic violations
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks, especially the Oshodi-Isolo axis
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to read maps and utilize GPS navigation systems effectively
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) in English
- Physical fitness to handle lifting and moving goods
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- High level of responsibility and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or Ordinary National Diploma (OND)
- Experience driving specific vehicle types (e.g., 3-ton trucks, refrigerated vans)
