Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods to various destinations across Lagos State.
- Plan and optimize routes to ensure timely deliveries, considering traffic and road conditions.
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition; report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered on the road.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and logistical procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules, delays, or challenges.
- Ensure the cleanliness and general maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Represent the company professionally during all interactions with clients and the public.
- Handle delivery documentation, including waybills and delivery notes, ensuring they are correctly signed and returned.
Required Skills
- Valid Class E or equivalent professional driver's license (for commercial vehicles in Nigeria)
- Minimum of 2 years of proven professional driving experience in Lagos
- Thorough knowledge of Lagos road networks, including Ketu, Kosofe, and surrounding areas
- Ability to operate vehicles safely under various weather and traffic conditions
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy packages when required
- High level of responsibility, reliability, and attention to detail
- Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations
Preferred Qualifications
