Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, trucks) to deliver packages and goods to various destinations within Ikeja, Lagos, and surrounding areas.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, using GPS and traffic updates.
- Load and unload packages carefully, ensuring goods are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and relevant documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with clients.
- Handle cash payments or electronic payment methods for Cash-on-Delivery (COD) services where applicable.
- Maintain cleanliness and good condition of the assigned vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery status or any unforeseen delays.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or G preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a logistics or courier setting
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic patterns, particularly Ikeja and surrounding areas
- Strong understanding and adherence to road safety rules and regulations
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Good physical condition for loading/unloading packages and extended driving periods
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (e.g., checking oil, tires, fluid levels)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of responsibility and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- WASSCE/GCE/NECO or equivalent educational qualification
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software
- Previous experience working for a recognized logistics or e-commerce delivery company
- Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations
- Ability to speak multiple local languages
