Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport goods according to assigned routes and schedules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring all mechanical and safety components are in working order.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Handle delivery documentation, including waybills and proof of delivery, with precision.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously at all times.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to various locations, sometimes involving overnight stays.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and cleanliness as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G minimum)
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of Egbeda, Alimosho, Lagos, and surrounding areas.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Ability to operate various vehicle types (vans, trucks).
- Good physical condition and stamina to handle long driving hours and cargo handling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Defensive Driving Certification.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software.
