Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, trucks) to transport goods to designated locations within Lagos and environs.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring all vehicle components are in good working order.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road signs, and company driving policies.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper securing to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, logistics coordinators, and clients regarding delivery status or any issues.
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean and in presentable condition.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or traffic violations promptly.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as needed when not on delivery routes.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Class G/E and above preferred)
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic regulations.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) safely.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, punctuality, and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/WAEC/NECO certificate.
- Defensive driving certification.
- Experience with GPS and navigation tools.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Ability to speak multiple local languages.
