Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Drivers to join our dynamic logistics team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of goods within Lagos and surrounding areas. This position requires individuals who are not only skilled behind the wheel but also possess a strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and a customer-centric approach. As a key member of our operations, you will be entrusted with the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of various goods, adhering strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and delivery schedules. Our drivers are the face of our company, and as such, we expect a high level of professionalism in every interaction, whether with clients, team members, or other road users. You will be responsible for conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your assigned vehicle, ensuring it is in optimal condition, and promptly reporting any maintenance issues. Maintaining accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption is also critical to this role. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport goods to designated locations within specified timeframes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all national and local traffic laws, as well as company safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Ensure all goods are properly loaded, secured, and unloaded to prevent damage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or potential delays.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously at all times.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring careful handling.
- Manage delivery documentation, obtaining necessary signatures and verifying contents.
- Keep the vehicle clean and tidy, performing minor maintenance tasks when necessary.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G/Commercial license preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a logistics or commercial setting.
- Proven track record of safe driving and adherence to traffic regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic patterns.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and extended driving periods.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Punctuality and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Defensive driving certification.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software.
- Familiarity with cargo documentation and manifest procedures.
- Ability to operate different types of commercial vehicles (vans, trucks).
