Bugesera Agro-Processing Ltd. is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Driver to join our growing and dynamic team in Bugesera, Eastern Province. This critical role is at the heart of our operational efficiency, involving the meticulous and secure transportation of our valuable raw materials from farms, essential supplies to our processing facilities, and high-quality finished products to various distribution points and customers across Rwanda, and occasionally to strategic locations in neighboring regions. You will be instrumental in the smooth running of our supply chain, operating company vehicles with utmost care, maintaining accurate delivery and vehicle maintenance records, and consistently upholding the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.
As a Driver for Bugesera Agro-Processing, you will serve as a vital link in our expansive supply chain, directly contributing to the seamless flow of our operations – from the initial agricultural input to the final delivery of our valued products. Your daily responsibilities will encompass thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, careful and secure loading and unloading of goods, navigating diverse Rwandan road conditions which may include both urban and rural routes, and managing complex delivery schedules with precision and adaptability. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Follow delivery schedules and routes, adapting to changes and communicating delays as necessary.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
Required Skills
- Valid Rwandan driving license (Category B, C, or equivalent for light/heavy goods vehicles)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in logistics or delivery services
- Excellent knowledge of Rwandan road networks, especially within Eastern Province and surrounding regions
- Strong understanding and adherence to road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting
- Good physical condition, capable of lifting and moving heavy packages
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Additional driving licenses (e.g., for forklifts or specialized equipment)
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle repairs
- Experience working in an agro-processing or supply chain environment
