Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport various goods, documents, and parcels to designated customer locations within Gbagada, Lagos, and surrounding areas.
- Adhere strictly to all national traffic laws, company safety policies, and established road regulations at all times.
- Ensure timely delivery schedules are met, providing regular and accurate updates on delivery status as required to the logistics team.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the assigned motorbike (or personal motorbike used for work), reporting any mechanical faults, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly.
- Handle all parcels and goods with the utmost care and professionalism to prevent any damage or loss during transit.
- Accurately collect payments and obtain verifiable signatures from recipients, ensuring meticulous record-keeping for all transactions.
- Provide exceptional customer service during every delivery interaction, maintaining a professional, courteous, and friendly attitude.
- Communicate effectively and proactively with the logistics team regarding any route challenges, potential delivery issues, or other operational concerns that may arise.
- Accurately complete all delivery manifests, logs, electronic records, and other relevant documentation as per company procedures.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A (Motorcycle) driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a motorbike driver or dispatch rider, preferably in a professional delivery service role.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of Gbagada, Lagos, road networks, and typical traffic patterns.
- Strong commitment to road safety practices and defensive riding techniques.
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to read maps, utilize GPS, and effectively use navigation applications on a smartphone.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry parcels up to 25kg comfortably.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, strong work ethic, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing delivery demands.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of professional delivery experience in a similar role.
- SSCE (Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination) or an equivalent educational qualification.
- Demonstrated experience with basic motorbike maintenance and minor troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with various payment collection methods, including point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling.
- Prior customer service training or experience in a direct customer-facing role.
