Key Responsibilities
- Meticulously check patron identification to ensure compliance with age restrictions and venue policies.
- Proactively monitor entry and exit points, maintaining accurate capacity counts and managing queues efficiently.
- Conduct thorough searches when necessary, adhering strictly to legal guidelines and company procedures.
- Skillfully diffuse disputes and intervene in incidents of disorder, employing conflict resolution techniques.
- Provide clear and polite instructions to patrons regarding venue rules and safety protocols.
- Liaise effectively with management, emergency services, and other security personnel.
- Complete detailed incident reports and log books accurately and promptly.
- Administer first aid when required, holding a valid certification.
- Maintain a visible and professional presence, acting as a deterrent to potential disturbances.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant licensing laws and health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify and address any security risks or maintenance issues.
Required Skills
- SIA Door Supervisor Licence (valid and current)
- Proven experience in a customer-facing security role (minimum 1 year)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to remain calm and authoritative under pressure
- Knowledge of relevant licensing laws and regulations (e.g., Licensing Act 2003)
- Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid at Work certification
- Conflict Resolution training
- Previous experience working in busy nightlife venues or large-scale events
- Knowledge of local area and common security challenges in Bradford
- Team leadership experience within a security context
