As a Distribution Van Driver, you will play a crucial part in our logistics chain, starting your day by carefully loading your vehicle with pre-sorted packages, verifying contents against delivery manifests, and meticulously planning your route for optimal efficiency and fuel consumption. Throughout your shift, you will navigate various routes, adhering strictly to all traffic laws and safety regulations, maintaining the highest standards of road safety for yourself and others. Upon arrival at each destination, you will safely unload goods, obtain necessary signatures, and handle any customer inquiries or concerns professionally and courteously, representing Career.supersecrets with integrity.
Accurate maintenance of delivery records, processing cash on delivery (where applicable), and providing detailed end-of-day reports will be a consistent part of your routine. You will also be expected to conduct daily pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, diligently checking fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, and brakes, and promptly reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to ensure the fleet remains in top operational condition. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery van to transport goods to various locations within Garissa and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage.
- Verify accuracy of shipments against delivery manifests and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, adhering to scheduled timelines.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or damage immediately.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and cash-on-delivery transactions.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing inquiries professionally.
- Keep the assigned delivery vehicle clean and organized.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status, delays, and issues.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan driving license (Class BCE or equivalent for commercial vehicles)
- Minimum 2 years of proven professional driving experience, preferably in distribution or logistics
- Excellent knowledge of Garissa road networks and traffic regulations
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 25 kg) frequently
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and responsibility
- Clean driving record

- Defensive driving certification
