Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently deliver parcels, mail, and other items to designated locations within Amsterdam according to planned routes and schedules.
- Operate assigned delivery vehicle (scooter, motorcycle, or light van) safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify contents against delivery manifest, obtain necessary signatures, and process proof of delivery accurately using handheld devices.
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team, customers, and colleagues regarding delivery status, potential delays, or issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic operational checks of the assigned vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing PostNL professionally at all times.
- Navigate challenging urban environments, including busy streets and varied weather conditions, with confidence and adaptability.
Required Skills
- Valid driving or riding license (category B, A, or AM, depending on vehicle type)
- Excellent knowledge of Amsterdam's geography and street network
- Strong navigation skills and ability to use GPS/mapping applications
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good physical condition and stamina for frequent loading/unloading and riding/driving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of responsibility and reliability
- Customer-focused mindset with a polite and professional demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a dispatch rider, courier, or delivery driver
- Familiarity with PostNL's operational procedures
- Ability to speak basic Dutch is an advantage
