Montclair Bistro is seeking a dedicated and reliable Dishwasher to join our vibrant kitchen team in Montclair, Oakland. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment, including industrial dishwashers, pot sinks, and three-compartment sinks, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
- Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils diligently, adhering strictly to all health and safety standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including floors, walls, and storage shelves, throughout service and at closing.
- Assist with the unloading and proper storage of deliveries, ensuring all items are placed in their designated locations.
- Remove trash and recycling promptly and efficiently, ensuring proper segregation and disposal according to restaurant guidelines.
- Support kitchen staff by keeping work areas clean, organized, and assisting with basic prep tasks as needed and directed by chefs.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a high level of personal and kitchen hygiene.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, breakages, or maintenance needs to management immediately to prevent disruptions.
Required Skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs consistently, and perform frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
- Highly reliable and punctual, understanding the importance of consistent attendance in a team setting.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and work effectively as an integral part of a diverse team.
- Basic understanding of kitchen sanitation principles and safe handling practices.
Preferred Qualifications
