Key Responsibilities
- Develop, schedule, and publish engaging content (text, image, video) across Global One Wajir’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) to raise awareness and drive engagement.
- Monitor social media trends, tools, and applications, and appropriately apply that knowledge to our social media strategy.
- Engage with our online community by responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner, fostering a positive online dialogue.
- Assist in the creation of social media campaigns that support organizational goals, program launches, and fundraising initiatives.
- Track and report on social media performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
- Collaborate with the communications and program teams to gather content, success stories, and updates from the field.
- Ensure all digital content aligns with Global One Wajir’s brand guidelines and messaging.
- Stay informed about current events and local issues relevant to Wajir County to create timely and impactful content.
- Provide support for other digital marketing tasks as needed, including website updates or email campaigns.
Required Skills
- Proven experience managing social media accounts (personal or professional) with a strong understanding of various platforms and their best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili (knowledge of local languages like Somali is a plus).
- Creativity and an eye for aesthetically pleasing content.
- Basic photo and video editing skills (e.g., using mobile apps or free online tools).
